May 8 through May 14, John 3:16 Blog Hop, Win a Signed Copy of Children of Dreams for Mother's Day

:

Welcome to the 1st John 3:16 Giveaway Blog Hop! As one of the members of this great network of Christian Authors, I am excited to participate in this event! We have come together this week to showcase our books and to give you, our readers, a chance to win some great prizes as you "hop" from blog to blog.

A different prize is offered at each blog site (no purchase necessary). However, if you want to have a chance to win one of two Kindles the network is giving away, the only requirement is that you sign up for the John 3:16 ezine newsletter. (Located at the top right side column of this site (See official rules here)

At the other blogs, each author may require that you leave a comment (and a valid email address) so they may contact you if you win a prize offered on their blog site. May I also suggest that you show your love and appreciation to each blog host by either following them on Twitter, or "liking" them on Facebook or subscribing to or joining their blog. It won't help your odds of winning a prize but I know each author would be thrilled and very encouraged!

I will be giving away several prizes over the next week. May 8 through May 14, I am hosting a raffle for two signed hard copies of my book, Children of Dreams, just in time for Mother's Day. Along with the books, I am adding in a $10 gift card at Starbucks for Happy Reading! One of the winners will be chosen through a drawing; the other one I will choose based on the comments made below in answer to the question, how have you been affected by adoption? Children of Dreams now has 63 reviews with 4.9 out of 5 stars. Check back on Wednesday for another free gift, and on Sunday for a third freebie:)

    1. Thanks, Marianne, for sharing. I was adopted as a child, so I have been profoundly affected both as a child and as parent.
      In an awesome way!

  10. Thank you for participating in the blog hop and giving all of us the opportunity to win and discover new authors! I have been affected by adoption in many ways. My husband has two adopted siblings and a dear couple that we have known for years struggled to concieve and finally decided to adopt. It was such a wonderful and memorable day when they finally got the call from the adoption agency that there was a baby for them! And to make it even better, 2 years later they were given the opportunity to adopt the half sibling of their daughter!

  15. how have you been affected by adoption?
as a young teenager, my fam took in a foster daughter frm an abusive situation. my parents tried every way to make sure she would become a family member, but the fostercare system chose rather to send her back to family of origin... disheartening, frustrating and so sorry we could only be that influence of love and care in the short term - but definitely with H Sp's impact in the long term...

  18. Wow, Lorilyn! How have I been affected by adoption? You've been a part of my journey! It has been incredible! You and Mary Jo became acquainted when we launched I'M A KEEPER! At the same time, our daughter was in the process of a difficult adoption of two beautiful little girls. This year is that daughter's first Mother's Day because those two little girls became our granddaughters on December 12, 2012. Your encouragement via correspondence and your book, which we read with great interest and shared with our daughter, was part of this rich blessing! And, thanks to that adoptions, Mary Jo is having a great "GrandMother's Day!" The little girls are doing very well and the entire process has blessed all of us many times over! Thanks for your part in that!

Thanks for your perseverance and foresight in creating this Network too! Blessings on all you do for Him!

    1. Happy Grandmother's Day. I am so thankful it all worked out. When it comes down to it, we realize, without God, none of it is possible. He puts the orphans in families:)

Thanks for being a part of our network and for all that you do:)

  19. My pastor and his wife have two boys and they adopted a little girl from China a year ago. Our church was instrumental in helping them raise the money for the adoption. My husband and I played a big role in that. Our church is a very small rural church in NC and our pastor is bivocational, so they needed all the help they could get. It has been a wonderful experience for the church family. We love Wen Li dearly, she's is first grade now. If I win this book, I will give it to her mother, Natalie, for her birthday.

  21. Well....adoption:
I've known SO MANY people who have been adopted, some from other countries, while others just adopted here from within the states. It's interesting to see how adoption has affected them all. I've been fortunate enough to have been raised by my biological parents. However, there is an adoption that I've been a part of, well, two. One kind is the kind where people, older women of faith or dear friends, have "adopted" me as a certain role (i.e. daughter or sister, etc.) within their lives, and that is how they view me and treat me. The second, and most important, is the adoption that has come through my faith in Christ, and how God is not my father since I have been adopted through the redeeming blood and sacrifice of Jesus into the family of God! ^_^
